Fall Road Trip

When I was living in Utah, every fall I decided that the next fall I would fly to somewhere on the East Coast and drive around to look at leaves. Looks like last year's goal was finally accomplished this year, mostly because I already live here. Last weekend, Jeff and I drove to the Green Mountains in Vermont by taking back roads and using a paper map, no less.

This farm was selling pumpkins about 10 feet from where they were grown.

That gorgeous stem got smashed off as the pumpkin rolled around the trunk for the next 6 hours.

Diego made friends with a calf. Not pictured is when the calf stuck her head all the way out of the fence to sniff Diego.

Yay meat raffle!

Holy crap. A legitimate covered bridge. Not pictured are the 4,000 other pictures I took of that bridge. You're welcome.

We drove through a few small mountain towns that were overcast and rainy and very adorable. I now want a big fluffy sweater and some tea. We just kind of kept driving and toward sunset we got to the Hoback Mountain overlook at the western edge of Vermont.

It was at this point that we remembered we were almost 4h from home. So even though we didn't get back until midnight we agreed it was still worth the trip.
