Awesome! On a somewhat related note, I read an article the other day about how industry can rarely reproduce the results which are published from academic labs. I think the reason is that we work with what we have laying around.
I was talking with DSM a while back and we were discussing the method that I use for one of our projects. They were wondering why I did it a certain way... I do it that way because that's what was laying around the lab :)
At BMES last week someone asked me a "why do you do it this way and not in a more logical way" question and I basically had to say "I do it that way because that's what was laying around the lab" but using fancier verbage. Science is less scientific than a lot of people are lead to believe.
